Szczecin is currently one of the most dynamically developing metropolises in Poland. The city continues to evolve with each day. Just to name a few examples of changes: in Szczecin you can observe reparations of communal city roads, renovations of old beautiful tenement houses or new shopping centers that are built frequently. Everyday you can hear or read about new ideas, initiatives and plans for better management of the city's infrastructure.

Rapid development of Szczecin and its potential did not go unnoticed in the world. The city has an impressive acreage - second biggest in the country, and it is placed in a very convenient location. Proximity to the sea basin and country border line makes it a perfect place for international business operations. It does not come as a surprise that Szczecin has attracted many foreign investors in the recent years. More and more new companies and larger enterprises are being created, and along with them, new workplaces. New office buildings are also built and their usable surfaces are already being reserved by numerous corporations. The city expands and improves in a flash and it is only a matter of time before it will catch up with the other biggest metropolises worldwide.

Szczecin has also become the center of the development regarding the modern technologies. Permanent access to skilled graduates has been the key factor for the largest software companies that has placed their headquarters here. As an appreciation the City of Szczecin has set up the Szczecin Science and Technology Park which is the prestigious home of initiatives within the IT cluster.

Despite continuous technological advancement, Szczecin remains one of the most enchanting cities in Poland. Among other reasons, the city is recognized as “the greenest” in the whole country. Enormous amount of green spaces such as forests, parks and flowery squares along with many water reservoirs brought national fame to the city, which became known and described as the Floating Gardens. This prompted an international campaign of the city entitled "Szczecin Floating Garden". As Szczecin is popular on world markets, international integration has become one of the priorities. That is one of the reasons why programs of all festivals held in Szczecin are being created in multiple language versions.

Being nominated for the title of the European Capital of Culture, Szczecin has also evolved in this area. Besides Sail Szczecin that has been popular for years, the city can also pride itself in organizing the Tall Ships' Races event. It was such an enormous success that the organizers decided to make Szczecin the host of the 2013 edition. Another cyclic and international event is Pyrogamic – a fireworks contest in which international teams from China, Italy and Portugal compete for the main prize.

In Szczecin you can also find something for your body. Sport enthusiasts can watch games of a popular football team – Pogoń Szczecin, swim in the recently built olympic swimming-pool or ride on a bike on one of the attractive routes leading through forests and parks. In winter you can ice skate on one of Szczecin's ice rinks. And very soon, as the construction of a new hall will be finished, we expect more sport events. In September 2013 our city will be the host of Men's European Volleyball Championship.

You cannot complain of the lack of entertainment in Szczecin – everybody will find something for themselves. We have many theaters that stage classic and modern plays, as well as musicals and plays for children. In Szczecin there is also the opera, the philharmonic and a huge amount of pubs and clubs with almost all music genres. Concerts, festivals and big musical events are very frequent. In free time you can also try karaoke, bowling, pool, tennis, paintball or watch a movie (even in 5D!).

Szczecin is a multicultural city. Here you will find everything you need – work, home, wonderful people, sport, culture and that amazing atmosphere of a port city. The city is open to young people so starting a career in this modern and energetic place is not only possible but easy to do.
